Word to PDF that looks the same everywhere
Upload a DOCX, DOC, ODT or RTF file and get a PDF that looks identical on any device.
How it works
- Choose a document
Drop the file into the box or click it. Contracts, proposals, letters and reports all work.
- Click Convert
The file goes to the conversion server, where LibreOffice builds the PDF and updates the table of contents.
- Download the PDF
Check the preview and download the file. The source and the result are deleted from the server right away.
What is preserved and what is not
Preserved
- Text, headings and paragraph styles
- Tables, lists, headers and footers
- Images embedded in the document
- Table of contents and fields: updated during conversion
- Page orientation and margins
Not transferred
- Macros: files with macros are not accepted
- Images and data behind external links: the server has no internet access
- Non-standard fonts: replaced with similar free ones
- Password-protected documents: remove the password first
- Tracked changes and comments do not go into the PDF
How we handle your file
- The file travels over HTTPS to a separate conversion server located in Russia. It is not connected to the website, the lead database or email.
- The document is processed in memory, in an isolated sandbox with no internet access. Links, macros and external data inside the file are not executed.
- The PDF is returned to you once. The source file and the result are deleted right after the response; a safety cleanup runs no later than 10 minutes.
- Logs keep only the time, the file size as a range and the result code. No file name, no content.
Do not upload documents with other people’s personal data unless you have the right to process it, or files with unlawful content. By uploading a file you confirm that you are entitled to process it.
FAQ
Is it safe to upload documents here?
The file travels over HTTPS to a separate conversion server in Russia, is processed in memory in an isolated sandbox with no internet access and is deleted right after the response. Logs keep only the time, the size as a range and the result code. If the the document contains trade secrets or personal data of EU residents, decide whether you may send it to an external service: this kind of conversion cannot be done in the browser.
Will the formatting be preserved?
Yes, in most cases the PDF looks like the document in Word: styles, tables, images, headers, footers and the table of contents carry over. Differences come from fonts: if the document uses a corporate or paid font, we substitute a similar free one and line breaks may shift.
Can I convert a password-protected document?
No. We do not accept passwords so that they never sit on the server, not even for seconds. Remove the protection in Word (File → Info → Protect Document) and upload the file again.
What about macros?
Files with macros (DOCM, DOTM) are not accepted, and macros in regular DOCX files are not executed. This protects against malicious documents.
What are the limits?
Files up to 15 MB, conversion up to one minute, no more than 10 files per hour from one address. If the server is busy, wait a minute and try again.
How much does it cost?
It is free and needs no sign-up.
