Meet the CEO

How YuSMP Group came to be, and the principles its founder builds the company on. A short conversation with Yury Pukhov — founder and CEO.

Yury Pukhov — Founder & CEO, YuSMP Group

Yury has spent his career in software, growing from developer to CTO of an international company before founding his own studio. Under his lead YuSMP Group builds complex, non-trivial products across industries. We sat down with Yury so you can get to know the person behind the company — his principles, what drives the team, why motivation stays high and turnover stays low, and the values that make client opinion matter here.

In his words

Why project delivery, not staff augmentation

It would probably be easier to earn in the popular outstaffing model — lending people out to other companies’ projects. Maybe simpler, though it has its own catches. But projects are what charge me up. I once felt a real rush from a launch: working as a project manager, together with developers and testers we shipped several products in an intense stretch. The energy from the result and from a team working in sync was enormous. A launch gives you a sense of being part of something big. And along the way we always deepen our own knowledge and broaden our view of other domains — medtech, fintech and so on — which is hugely motivating: you get to understand how business works in different fields.

Why we created YuSMP Group

In your own company you choose the people you want to keep going with — motivated people who want to work for the result. I see colleagues as interesting individuals and like-minded people. At the final stage of hiring I personally interview everyone who joins. It matters to me that each person shares the company’s values and mission — that’s what gives the energy to keep going.

The company mission

What are a mission and values even for? YuSMP Group’s mission is to build working, technological products that are useful to people. I want to see our products live and actually get used — we build interesting projects and the people who use them, not work for the sake of a paycheck. A mission unites the company and gives it a direction, a vector. We aren’t just employees in an office; we’re a movement that gets to change the world for the better. Values help form a team of like-minded people and filter out those who would get in the way. The same goes for clients — sometimes it’s better not to start than to make the work unbearable for both sides. That way everyone understands each other better, there are fewer questions and delays, and we work faster and to a higher standard.

What we stand for

Our values

Openness & transparency

In how we talk — with clients, and between colleagues and partners.

See it through

We carry projects to the finished result and get to see the launch of the product we worked on.

Happy client & team

Both the client and the team should be happy with the result.

Always learning

We keep an in-house library of professional literature across fields, free to borrow, and refresh it with new titles regularly.

100% professionalism

We work only with proven people.

Motivated people

We watch team motivation closely — high motivation means high results.

The team

How we attract and keep developers

First, it’s substantial, interesting projects and non-trivial problems — developers are motivated by work that grows them. Second, a culture where people are heard, where you can influence decisions and see the impact of your work. We invest in learning, keep the atmosphere friendly, and pay fairly for experience and results. People stay where the work is meaningful and the team is one they want to be part of.

Where the company will be in five years

A stronger product portfolio, deeper expertise in the domains we care about, and a team that keeps its bar high as it grows. We’d rather grow deliberately — keeping the culture and the engineering standard intact — than chase headcount for its own sake.

Data security & confidentiality

Every engagement starts under NDA. We treat client data and access with the same rigor we apply to our own systems — least-privilege access, secure handling, and clear boundaries. Security isn’t a checkbox at the end; it’s part of how we build.

The challenges we face

The interesting problems are rarely the easy ones. Ambitious products come with hard constraints — scale, compliance, tight timelines, evolving requirements. We take them on with clear architecture and honest communication, and we say so early when something needs rethinking. That’s what keeps the second year in production as calm as the first.

Testimonials

What clients say

The result Yury cares about — in the words of the people we built for.

Building a social platform from scratch is high-stakes work. YuSMP delivered the interest feed, geo Radar, Stories, and virtual coins economy on schedule, with a codebase our in-house team picked up on day one of handoff.

Remote document signing is a legal minefield. YuSMP built both the mobile signing flow and the Symfony CRM in a single engagement, handled KYC onboarding, and delivered API docs that our compliance team cleared in days.
