FAQ
Why do apps get rejected by the App Store and Google Play?
Most rejections come from a short list: the app crashes or is incomplete, the reviewer can’t log in, metadata promises more than the app does, privacy disclosures don’t match the SDKs, digital goods are sold outside In-App Purchase or Play Billing, or the app is a thin website wrapper. The checklist covers each of these with the official rule behind it.
What changed in store requirements in 2025–2026?
Apple now requires privacy manifests for the app and common SDKs, a minimum Xcode and iOS SDK version for uploads and updated age-rating answers. Google Play raises the target API level every year, requires a web link for account deletion and a closed test for new personal accounts and will require 16 KB memory page support for native code from February 2027. In the EU, both stores require trader status under the Digital Services Act. Dates and thresholds in the tool are as of 2 Oct 2026.
How is the readiness score calculated?
Blockers weigh 3 points, important items 1 point; “Good to know” items carry no weight. A blocker that is not marked Ready — including one left unanswered — zeroes its whole section for that store, because a single blocker is enough for a rejection. The score is the share of points you have closed, separately for the App Store and Google Play.
My app was rejected — what should I do?
Paste the message into the tool: it maps guideline numbers and Play policy names to concrete checks. Fix those items, reply in App Store Connect’s Resolution Center or Play Console with what you changed, and resubmit. If you believe the reviewer is wrong, you can appeal to the App Review Board or through Play Console.
Do I really need 12 testers for 14 days on Google Play?
Yes, if your developer account is a personal account created after 13 November 2023: before applying for production access you must run a closed test with at least 12 opted-in testers for at least 14 days in a row. Organization accounts are exempt. Plan about three weeks for it.
What is DSA trader status and do I need to declare it?
The EU Digital Services Act requires stores to show whether a developer is a trader. If you earn money from the app or act in a professional capacity, you are likely a trader, and your address, phone and e-mail are shown to EU users. Apple removes apps without a declared status from EU storefronts; Google Play also requires the declaration. Check with counsel if unsure.
Does this check analyse my app binary or source code?
No. It is a self-assessment based on your answers: nothing is uploaded and nothing is scanned. It shows what the store rules require and where your answers leave a gap. The store reviewer makes the final decision.
Can you publish the app or fix a rejection for us?
Yes. Our mobile team closes the blockers, prepares the listing, privacy labels and review notes, and handles the submission or the appeal. Use the “Get my app approved” form under your result.
Rejected or stuck in review? We’ll fix it and resubmit
